3. Shelves of Proprietary Apps
On this instance several shelves have been dedicated to the largest Big Tech application companies in the world i.e Google, Apple, Microsoft Amazon, Meta, etcetera. Besides that we also included a shelve of other Big Tech apps that are dominant but do dominant their specific markets like Spotift, Airbnb, Uber etcetera.Β
The goal of these selves is the following
- Let users quickly find the apps they are familiar with such that they learn which open source apps exist to replace their proprietary counter parts
- Make people understand the vast amount of apps and businesses these Big Tech corporations own. Even though most people already know that these Big Tech companies own many subsidiaries it is great to get and overview of them and also linked to open source replacements
- It does not only focus on apps that can only be replaced with just an app, it also focuses on apps that dominate the physical world as well such as Food apps, Work apps, House finding apps etcetera.Β
- Also each application has the name of the Big Tech corporation in front of it such that it is easier for people to search for their apps and it makes it directly clear to which BT company the app belongs to.Β
- Finally, the BT shelves and the open source by category shelves are representing applications that organizations and the common man can directly use. It is not open source software for developers. For that you should look at the Deternet Datacenter instance.Β
So, yeahh that's kind of it folks ;)Β
